Ford Fiesta radio code guide
After the battery is disconnected or replaced, the Fiesta's factory stereo switches to anti-theft mode and asks for a 4-digit security code. To generate it you need the radio's unique serial number.
On most Fiestas from 2002 onwards the serial can be shown on the display, so you usually don't need to take anything out of the dashboard.

How to unlock your Fiesta radio
- Show the serial: turn the ignition and the radio on, then hold buttons 1 and 6 (or 6 and Mute on some Sony units). Look for a code starting with M or V followed by 6 digits.
- Older models: if the buttons show nothing (common on the Fiesta Mk5 three-part dashboard stereos), remove the radio with four release keys and read the serial from the label on the back.
- Get the code: enter the serial at the top of this page. The price for your country is shown before payment and the code appears immediately after.
- Enter the code: button 1 for the first digit, 2 for the second, 3 for the third and 4 for the fourth, then press and hold 5 (or 6 / the centre button on Sony units).
Good to know
- A radio swapped from another car has its own code – use the serial of the unit fitted now.
- After a few wrong codes the stereo makes you wait; after 10 it shows LOCKED. Don't guess.
